If you haven’t, that’s the Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center, one of Asia’s most advanced dental centers. We’ll go into a little more about them shortly. We’ll also let you know the price of veneers according to GAOC and more in this article. Are you ready to learn a little more about GAOC and dental tourism in the Philippines in general? Great, let’s proceed!
Wait, what are veneers?
Veneers are a godsend when it comes to a bright smile. Think of porcelain strips, carefully measured and applied to your teeth so that you have a smile that you could host a game show with. Veneers have been around for some time and have made a lot of people happy. Their origins lie in Hollywood, with the original veneers being invented by a Californian doctor named Charles Pincus. They were originally developed as a means of temporarily imbuing actors with perfect smiles. Alas, they wouldn’t stay affixed for long periods of time and it wouldn’t be until many years later when a method of acid-etching teeth would allow for the permanent affixing of veneers. Happily, we don’t have that problem these days, so your veneers should last a very long time.
So why choose the Philippines for dental work?
Well, for one thing, you could save up to 75% on your dental work and still get professional care(plus you can recover somewhere beautiful). Why not make a vacation out of it?
So what is this GAOC thing?
The Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center is a dental center located in the Philippines. With 10 branches in many convenient and beautiful locations, they are one of the premier dental providers in Asia. Do they have the best veneers in the Philippines? We can’t say for sure but they are certainly quite popular. So what is the price for dental veneers according to GAOC? Around 35,000 pisos for veneers is the cost according to local press. This comes to almost $700.00, whereas veneers purchased in the United States might cost up to $2000.00. Not a bad amount of savings.
How much do veneers cost at other places in the Philippines?
That is generally going to depend on the location and what all is involved in getting them affixed to your teeth. We encourage shopping around in advance. Look for large dental centers so that you know you have a place with a good history so that you can get the best work at the lowest price.
How are veneers installed by my dentist?
- First visit – The dentist will discuss the details of the procedure with you and take X-rays and possibly bite impressions of your teeth. If anything needs to be done to ensure compatibility with the procedure then you will discuss it with the dentist at this time.
- Second visit – This is when your teeth get prepared for affixing your veneers. Half of a millimeter will be removed from the target tooth or teeth so that the veneer may be affixed permanently. A model(or models) of the tooth or teeth you are getting veneers for will be made and shipped off to a lab, where your veneers will be custom made and shipped back to your dentist. This process may take one or two weeks, so be sure that you have a good amount of vacation time scheduled for your visit to the Philippines.
- Third visit – This is when your veneers will be applied. In preparation for this, your teeth will be shaped a bit, some etching will be involved(to improve the hold on your teeth), and then a dental cement is put on the veneers and they are applied. The dentist will harden the cement through the application of light until it has been ‘cured’ and voila, you are done!
“Half of a millimeter will be removed from the target tooth.”
Is any special care required after this?
